PM Modi’s Inauguration of 75 Redeveloped Railway Stations Marks Historic Transformation of India’s Rail Network: Keshav Prasad Maurya

Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya has welcomed Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s inauguration of 75 redeveloped railway stations under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme and the launch of the Amritsar–Varanasi Express, describing the initiatives as a historic milestone in the modernization of India’s railway infrastructure and passenger services.

In a statement issued on Friday, Maurya said the projects reflect the Prime Minister’s vision of creating a modern, safe, efficient and passenger-centric railway system that strengthens connectivity while enhancing the overall travel experience across the country.

He said Indian Railways is undergoing an unprecedented transformation under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership. According to Maurya, the redevelopment of railway stations extends far beyond architectural upgrades, encompassing world-class passenger amenities, advanced technology, enhanced security systems, improved accessibility, cleaner environments and seamless mobility for travellers.

The Deputy Chief Minister highlighted that the redevelopment of Aishbagh, Vindhyachal, Fatehpur, Panki Dham, Modinagar, Shamli and Dhampur railway stations in Uttar Pradesh would provide a significant boost to the state’s infrastructure and economic development. He said the upgraded stations would offer safer, more comfortable and convenient travel while ensuring better facilities for senior citizens, women and persons with disabilities.

Maurya noted that the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme has been designed to integrate local culture, heritage and regional identity into station redevelopment projects. He said this approach would not only improve the passenger experience but also promote tourism, stimulate local trade and industry, and create new employment opportunities in surrounding regions.

Emphasising Uttar Pradesh’s importance as a major religious, cultural and industrial hub, he said the redeveloped railway stations would strengthen connectivity across the state and accelerate economic activity by improving access to key destinations.

Welcoming the launch of the Amritsar–Varanasi Express, Maurya said the new rail service would further strengthen connectivity between different regions of the country. He added that the train would facilitate more convenient travel while promoting religious tourism, commercial activities and stronger social and cultural ties.

The Deputy Chief Minister also said that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, India is witnessing rapid expansion of modern infrastructure across road, rail, air and waterways. He described a robust and efficient transport network as a critical pillar in achieving the vision of a Viksit Bharat, with Indian Railways playing a central role in this transformation.

Maurya further stated that the efforts of the “double-engine government” have positioned Uttar Pradesh among the fastest-growing states in the country. He expressed confidence that ongoing investments in railway infrastructure and other development sectors would further strengthen the state’s economy and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

Concluding his remarks, Maurya extended his gratitude and congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi for dedicating modern railway stations and enhanced rail services to the nation, saying the initiatives represent another significant step towards building a developed, well-connected and infrastructure-driven India.
